TVGUIDE - FNL Location Crisis Averted
Saturday, August 25th, 2007

Per TVGuide News:

It came thisclose to a move out of the Lone Star State for year two of NBC's critical darling Friday Night Lights. "Texas didn't follow through on the rebates promised when we based the production in Austin," says Aimee Teegarden, who plays the coach's daughter Julie. "NBC said, 'we're going to move.' It was talks about money. Arizona and New Mexico were both anxious to have us and offered incentives, so I was expecting our show was going to leave Austin."

"Aimee's right," says executive producer Jason Katims. "We were scouting new location bases and were courted by the other states' film commissions, but the network and the appropriate people in Texas settled things. I can't provide specifics, but it worked out so we could remain in Austin."

And what did Teegarden get out of this? "I got a new apartment in Austin," replies the Southern California native. "There was no reason to keep my original place when I heard we might move to New Mexico or Arizona."

Teegarden celebrates her milestone 18th birthday on Oct. 10, five days after the launch of Friday Night Lights' second season. For those who can't wait, Universal's home video division is soon to launch the first season on DVD. — Reporting by David Walstad

IGN: Friday Night Lights Exclusive Cast Interviews
Tuesday, June 19th, 2007
According to IGN:

Last week the producers and cast of Friday Night Lights took part in a Q&A for their acclaimed series. While some of the content was similar to another discussion they'd done a couple of months ago, there was one big difference: this time everyone knew they were definitely coming back for a second season, as the show was officially renewed last month. Executive Producers Jason Katims and Peter Berg were pretty tight lipped on details about Season 2, though Berg said he was incredibly excited about what Katims had told him were his plans for Episodes 1 - 8. The one detail Katims gave was that Season 2 would pick up eight months after Season 1 and immediately deal with the pregnancy of Tami Taylor (Connie Britton), which was revealed in the Season 1 finale.

Before the event began I was able to speak to many of the Friday Night Lights cast for exclusive interviews with IGN. Those I spoke to included Kyle Chandler ("Coach Eric Taylor"), Adrianne Palacki ("Tyra Collete"), Gaius Charles ("Brian 'Smash' Williams"), Aimee Teegarden ("Julie Taylor"), Minka Kelly ("Lyla Garrity"), Zach Gilford ("Matt Saracen"), and Connie Britton ("Tami Taylor").

Exclusive Buddy TV Interview with Aimee Teegarden!
Wednesday, February 7th, 2007
Thanks to Royce, from BuddyTV.com, I found out that Buddy TV had an exclusive interview with the talented Aimee Teegarden. Here's an excerpt from the interview:

What was it like shooting the pilot? The show is so different, the filming is so stylized, it seems like a lot of hand held stuff, filmed entirely on location. Was it difficult adjusting to that after doing a lot of stuff in LA?
Um, it’s definitely a different experience. We have three cameras going at all times. You never know where you’re supposed to look. I’ll turn around a lot and like look straight into a camera and be like “darn it”! But, um, the pilot was really awesome. It was a month in Austin. I got to stay at the Four Seasons Hotel, which was pretty sweet. It’s very different, it really is. There’s no rehearsing, there’s no you hitting your marks. It’s all just kind of “Okay, so here’s your lines, and play with them and have fun.”

Did you have a feeling while shooting the pilot that it was going to be kind of a big deal? Did you feel confident that the show was going to get picked up?
From what everybody was saying, I had a good feeling but, I mean, there’s millions and millions of pilots that are made that just never, ever go anywhere. And that was actually my first pilot ever, so I was kind of a newbie to the whole process.
